Where:

Nemakunku is a predominately Mandinka village of about a thousand people and is located several kilometres from the main road.  Although it is less than 17kms away from Banjul, the capital, the journey to there can take several hours because Nemakunku is separated from the capital by the mighty River Gambia.

What:

WEC ran a small medical clinic in the village for many years which closed in 2009. A Skill Training Centre was also set up which now runs independently by local people.
